Humboldt Penguins
The artist Lucy Loveheart was commissioned to paint this picture exclusively for Chester Zoo. It depicts three Humboldt penguins basking in the sunset in their natural habitat along the rocky coast of South America. These playful creatures, with their distinctive white and black features and torpedo shaped bodies can be seen up close in 'Penguin Cove' as part of the zoo experience. Chester Zoo has a breeding programme in a bid to conserve this loveable, endangered species.
